This low voltage landscape lighting project, located in the Pewaukee area, was a mix of repair work, upgrading, and new installation. Our client came to us at first with an existing display, utilizing CAST lighting products. The initial project was simply to repair the non-working system. After a tree removal, our client’s display quit working in two areas. In cases like this, finding the problem usually takes a fair bit of time. However, with the background information from our client, we were able to locate the issue underground fairly quickly. Fortunately, with low voltage lighting, we are able to make repairs simply by cutting out the broken cable and replacing it with a new line.
After the system was fully working once again, our client requested a full uplight display on the front face of their home to be added. The initial design only called for a few floodlights to shine on their home in a couple areas. Because the entire system was using halogen lamps, these floodlights simply were not adequate. Instead of replacing those floodlights completely, we decided to upgrade them by inserting an LED lamp. On top of that, our team added several new uplights for the other areas of the home. Because of the current halogen lights, we made sure to have all the new uplights use LED lamps.
The brand of products used here, CAST, is a more unique line of landscape lighting products throughout the low voltage industry. Instead of aluminum, brass, or copper, these fixtures are made of a rugged solid sand-cast bronze material. This approach makes them virtually indestructible and able to survive the harshest of environmental conditions. As we could see when installing the new uplight fixtures, they start out as a nice, bright bronze color. Over time, however, the fixtures start to have a patina that makes them blend in very well with the landscape. To see more of their products, check out their website!
