Located in Menomonee Falls, this landscape lighting project was completed over several phases. Our client had recently purchased this home and was planning several landscape renovations. Phase one started with the front landscape and home. Our goal was to create a warm, inviting display. To do so, we utilized several uplights along the entire front of the home. Pairing that with some tree uplighting and path lighting, we were able to cover a complete front display. Because we knew the client would be doing this project in several phases, we designed this first portion to include a larger than needed transformer. This low voltage transformer had enough power left on it to continue expansion to the back.
Phase two then started shortly after and included a small backyard patio area. Surrounding the patio is a thin border of mulch, plants, and decor including a couple of gnomes. To one side of the patio, there is more planting area. In order to add light here, we spaced out several spread lights in specific locations. We were able to light the patio edges, small walkways, and several plants & decor.
Phase three started once our client had completed his new backyard water feature area. The new space included several birch trees, numerous small boulder rocks, miscellaneous decor items, and obviously the beautiful water feature. The water feature contractor supplied several underwater lights already, so our plan included uplighting and spread lighting to showcase the remaining portion of the new space.
Overall, this low voltage lighting display really had a huge impact on this client and their home. Spending time outside, with the sound of water pouring down several falls, is just that much better when light allows you to enjoy it late into the night. For products on this project, we used all Kichler Lighting fixtures in a brown finish that matched well with the style of the home and landscape.
