This landscape lighting display, located in Verona, included LED lights for both the front and back of the property. In front, the goal was to light the home and one large birch tree on the side. For home uplighting, our team spread out eight Kichler brass fixtures for complete coverage. On the side of the home, we utilized two of the same uplights for the large birch tree. Our clients wanted this side tree lit mainly for security late at night (although we think their dog takes care of that job quite well).
Moving to the backyard, there are several aspects that help make this a unique design. With a beautiful water feature, we wanted to make sure we highlighted that as a focal point. Not only would you hear the water at night, but now you’d be able to see it as well. Surrounding that water feature then, are several trees ranging in size. The design included all brass uplights, varying in size of fixture to make sure they stayed more hidden in the landscape where necessary. With the use of a few spread lights, we were able to cast light towards several rock areas around the water feature and leading to a shared seating area.
To cover more ground and add light to the area, we chose a small flood light to highlight some additional boulders and plants in the landscape between the water feature and trees. Also, to make the seating area stand out, we included a couple uplights, angled down towards the back retaining wall. In order to prevent glare when sitting down, we adjusted the cowls on each lighting fixture accordingly.
Overall, we created a beautiful backyard living space that now could be enjoyed day and night!
